era a pennello / lime paint
Lime based paints for interiors and exteriors
era a pennello / lime paint - v.2025-04-02
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Era a Pennello is a lime-based paint, made of hydrated putty, selected inert and rheological modifiers, which guarantee a perfect workability of the product.
With its formulation, Era a Pennello permits to achieve soft and vibrant shades. The low thickness of the applied product permits to see “materically” the substrate.

USES
USES
Era a Pennello is indicated for the decoration of external façades of rural and historical centres, in the respect of the tradition of these environments. Era a Pennello is indicated also for the decoration of interiors.
Natural lime plasters represent Era a Pennello’s most suitable substrates, since the product reacts chemically with them, building up a unique “body” able to preserve the lime coating for a longer period of time.
Era a Pennello may also be applied on:
- Lime and cement mortars
- Premixed renderings
- Pre-existing lime and gypsum plasters
- Gypsum plasterboards

PERFORMANCES
PERFORMANCES
With its high steam-permeability performance, Era a Pennello is recommended for all the surfaces whose permeability rate has to be protected.

DILUITION
DILUITION
Dilute the first coat with 40-50% of water and the second coat with 25-30% of water.

WARNINGS
WARNINGS
Mix properly the product before tinting and applying.
Do not apply on fresh/new substrates; wait a maturation period of 4 weeks normally.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
(Referred to environmental conditions T=25°C, UR=60%)
The substrate must be perfectly dry, dust-free, with no humidity and salt stains.
Resurface or consolidate the surface with specific products if necessary.
In case of mould, treat the surface with suitable specific products.
Brush or remove any efflorescence and old peeling paint.
Higher layers of old lime-based paint and tempera paint must be removed.
Brush out dust, smog or other deposits before the application.
In case of non-homogeneous or chalky surfaces, apply one layer of Decofix (micronized wall sealer) diluted, with a brush.
Over dry and compact substrates, apply one layer of Acricolor (water-based acrylic pigmented sealer) or Novaprimer (water-based acrylic pigmented primer) diluted, with a brush.
Over dry substrate, apply one coat of Era a Pennello diluted with roller, brush or airless.
Smooth or remove eventual exceeding amount of product.
Once the substrate is completely dry, apply a second coat of Era a Pennello diluted with roller, brush or airless.
Drying time: 24 hours approx. depending on the kind of substrate, absorption rate and environmental conditions.

PROTECTION OF THE SURFACES
PROTECTION OF THE SURFACES
It is possible to protect and decorate interior surfaces with the application of Cera Wax or Cera Wax Plus.
For further details see Cera Wax technical data sheet.
Higher protection in exteriors can be achieved with Acquadivetro. It must be applied after at least 20-30 days from the application of Era a Pennello, in stable weather conditions (T=25°C, UR=60%), in order to let the substrate’s pH decrease under 12.
It is important to determine the dilution rate of the product through previous application-test on site.
The application of Acquadivetro change the surface’s polish rate, making it opaque.

RECOMMENDATION
RECOMMENDATION
During the entire application process, the product must protected from cold and high heat changes.
Do not apply with air, substrate and product temperature lower than +5°C and higher than +35°C, nor under direct sun light, nor on superheated surfaces (even if already in shadow).
Environmental humidity must be <75%; substrate humidity must be <10%.
It is advisable to complete each work with materials from the same batch of production. When using multiple batches, it is recommended to remix the various products together to avoid slight differences in shading.
The application of Era a Pennello on exterior walls requires the choice of light colour shades and the use of colorants resistant to lime and outdoors.
For the correct use, dilution and application of the products here mentioned, consult their respective technical data sheets.
During the preparation of the substrate and application of the products, it is recommended the correct use of tools and individual protective devices (dpi).
