Clear Finish Monocomponent is a water-based urethane protective coating for vertical surfaces, both indoor and outdoor, treated with decorative finishes, water-based paints, and enamels.
Its low-yellowing formulation provides the thin protective film with high resistance to water and stains caused by common household substances such as oil, detergent, and wine.
Clear Finish Monocomponent creates a protective layer with excellent mechanical resistance, making decorated vertical surfaces highly resistant to superficial scratches.
Clear Finish Monocomponent can be applied on:
- Decorative organic finishes Water based paints
- Water-based paints
- Enamels
- Old paints and organic dry cohesive and absorbent coatings
- Mineral substrates, only in interiors
Clear Finish Monocomponent is not recommended for use in commercial or industrial settings where protection from scratches caused by contact with pallets, metal baskets, or similar items is required.
Binder : polyurethane emulsion with modified acrylic.
Specific gravity per UNI EN ISO 2811-1: 1,00 +/- 0,05 g/ml
Compliant with HACCP according to the requirements of EC Regulation 852/2004
Indoor Air Quality classification: A+
Brilliance EN ISO 2813: 20° ± 2° angle 60°
Wet-scrub resistance per ISO 11998: class 1
Drying (25 °C - 65% U.R.): dust dry 30 minutes touch dry in 1 hour, total after in 3 hours.
Variable depending on surface absorption and the tool used. Typically, the first and second coats are diluted at 5–10%. For highly absorbent surfaces, dilute the first coat up to 30%.
Properly mix the products before the application.
Do not apply on fresh substrates and wait an adequate maturation period.
Do not use the product in situations with constant presence of water.
Do not apply the product on wet substrates or if humidity comes up from the bottom to the top.
Do not apply over mineral surfaces in exteriors.
(Refers to environmental conditions: T = 25°C, RH = 60%)
Surfaces previously treated with decorative finishes, paints, or enamels must be dry, clean, cohesive, compact, and free of dust or salt stains caused by moisture.
Depending on the product and type of decoration, apply one coat of Clear Finish Monocomponent using a roller, spray, or sponge trowel.
For site-specific needs or where greater protection is required, a second coat may be applied.
On mineral surfaces indoors, apply the first coat of Clear Finish Monocomponent diluted at 30% using a sponge trowel, followed by a second undiluted coat applied with a roller.
When applying, the material must be protected from the cold and from big heat changes during the entire application process.
Do not apply at air, background and product temperatures below +5°C or above +35 °C.
Ambient humidity must be <75%; background humidity must be <10%.
In order not to compromise the optimal appearance and performance of the product, we recommend applying it in the above-mentioned ambient conditions.
It is advisable to complete each work with materials from the same batch of production. When using multiple batches, it is recommended to remix the various products together to avoid slight differences in shading.
For the correct use of the above materials, and for dilution and laying, please carefully read the technical data sheet.
The correct use of equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) is recommended during all phases of background and product preparation, and of application).
With water, immediately after use.
It is deeply influenced by the kind of product to protect. For smooth surfaces the yield is 12-14 m²/l per layer.
Colorless, not tintable.
1 L packages.
The product should preferably be used within 2 years if stored in its original, unopened containers and under suitable temperature conditions.
Storage temperature: from +5 °C to 30 °C.
Clear Finish Monocomponent shows good resistance to standard household cleaners.
It is recommended to promptly remove aggressive substances and clean with cold or moderately warm water to avoid prolonged contact.
For persistent dirt, water and non-aggressive (neutral) cleaners may be used. A preliminary cleaning test on a hidden area of the surface is advisable to specifically assess resistance. Do not use pure or diluted denatured ethyl alcohol as a cleaner.
Do not use abrasive sponges for surface cleaning.
Avoid descaling agents and, in general, highly alkaline or acidic cleaners that could damage the surface coated with Clear Finish Monocomponent.
Do not use steam cleaning.
Maintenance work, especially if performed on a specific area, may be visible. To maintain the top coat, use the same finish already applied. Perform the intervention after sanding and cleaning the surface, ensuring uniform application of the product.
